The Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford (the HCBSS) invites qualified candidates to apply to the HCBSS Postdoctoral Fellowship. The Fellowship is for a two-year term, beginning in the Fall of 2024.
We invite applications from scholars in all areas of Buddhist Studies whose research interests would complement and augment the work of our current faculty and graduate students, and whose work promises to significantly contribute to the field of Buddhist Studies.
The Fellowship will provide a stipend, annual research fund, standard benefits, and relocation funds. The expected base pay range for this position is $72,000 – $74,000. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity. The Fellow will teach one course per year in the Department of Religious Studies at Stanford, give one talk on their research during the term of the fellowship, and actively participate in the HCBSS events and programs. The Fellow is expected to be in residence at Stanford for the full academic year (mid-September through mid-June), including quarters when he or she is not teaching, and to be an active member of our scholarly community.
