Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University invites applications for one or more Research Training Group Postdoctoral Scholar positions, with an expected start date of August 16th, 2024. These positions are supported by an NSF Research Training Group grant focused on discrete mathematics, https://sites.google.com/view/rtgisu/. These three-year appointments have duties that include conducting research, participating in the activities of the discrete mathematics group, such as taking an active part in seminars and research related events of the group, teaching load of one course per semester, and leading a research group with graduate and undergraduate students annually. This position is subject to availability of funding.  


Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Mathematics or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Combinatorics, Graph Theory, Discrete Mathematics or related area.

  • Experience teaching and mentoring students.

August 16, 2024


Proposed End Date or Length of Term:
August 15, 2026


Number of Months Employed Per Year:
12 Month Work Period
