Job Description Summary | Dr. April Smith, the Director of the Research on Eating Disorders and Suicidality (REDS) lab at Auburn University is hiring a full-time post-doctoral fellow to work on a National Institute of Mental Health supported R01 focusing on understanding the physiological, behavioral, and psychological mechanisms linking anorexia nervosa, suicide ideation, and suicide attempts. This R01 was jointly awarded to Dr. Smith and Dr. Cheri Levinson, the Director of the Eating Anxiety Treatment (EAT) lab at the University of Louisville (UofL); as such, this position will be jointly supervised by Drs. Smith and Levinson. This position will involve working with clinical participants with eating disorders, supervising implementation and analysis of studies, including the R01 and additional ongoing trials, conducting diagnostic assessments, working on grant proposals and publications, mentoring study coordinators and graduate and undergraduate students, assisting with data preparation and analysis, and working with a large interdisciplinary team at UofL, Auburn University, and with cross-site collaborators. The post-doctoral fellow will work very closely with Dr. Levinson and Dr. Smith on a day to-day basis. Supervision towards licensure is available. The fellow will be located on site at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. Teaching opportunities are available if desired. Additional clinical opportunities and supervision are also available. This position is a one-year position with the possibility of funding for three additional years. Preference will be given to a post-doc who can commit to at least two years. This post-doctoral fellowship will help propel the fellow into a tenure-track or research faculty position. |

Minimum Qualifications | A Ph.D. in psychology, computer science, engineering or a related field is required at the time employment begins. ABD candidates will be considered but must have a Ph.D. by the start date or the offer will be withdrawn. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment. |
