Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced research on fermentation science with a focus on improving and innovating current methodologies.
- Investigate the microbial ecology of food and develop strategies for enhancing beneficial microbial interactions.
- Dive deep into Monascus research, exploring its potential applications and benefits in the food industry. Collaborate on projects centered around antibiotic production, aiming to develop novel and sustainable approaches.
- Publish findings in reputable journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to grant proposal writing.
- Mentor junior researchers and students in the department.
- Other duties as required.
Required Education:
- Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
Required special knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred special knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Proven track record in fermentation science and food microbiology.
- Experience with Monascus research is highly desirable.
- Strong background in the area of antibiotic production.
