Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct advanced research on fermentation science with a focus on improving and innovating current methodologies.
• Investigate the microbial ecology of food and develop strategies for enhancing beneficial microbial interactions.
• Dive deep into Monascus research, exploring its potential applications and benefits in the food industry. Collaborate on projects centered around antibiotic production, aiming to develop novel and sustainable approaches.
• Publish findings in reputable journals and present at national and international conferences.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to grant proposal writing.
• Mentor junior researchers and students in the department.
• Other duties as required.

Required Education:

• Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.

Required special knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred special knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Proven track record in fermentation science and food microbiology.
• Experience with Monascus research is highly desirable.
• Strong background in the area of antibiotic production.
