Community Care College is seeking a Dental Assistant Instructor Substitute! A minimum of three years’ recent experience in chairside assisting in the dental field is required. Must have a current Oklahoma Dental Assistant Permit and successful completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program. Expanded functions are preferred. As a professional in the Dental industry, you will use your career experience to educate the next generation of professionals with the fundamentals of Dental Assisting. Instruction will combine classroom and hands-on lab training. Instructors are responsible for sound educational practices and the academic development of each student, manage the classroom environment, and promote a positive and engaging learning experience, providing support, and tutoring, as needed. Substitute, As Needed, potentially Monday through Friday days. Background and drug screen required. Licensed by OBPVS.

 


General Substitute Instructor Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Teach students in person through lectures, discussions, and in the lab with hands-on training
  • Counsel students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback
  • Assesses students’ progress by grading assignments, exams, and other work
  • Model the CARES philosophy (Courtesy, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Success)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Reports to the Dental Assistant Department Head

Education and Experience:

Required

  • Successfully completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
  • Must have a minimum of three years experience in chairside assisting in the dental field
  • Must have a current Oklahoma Dental Assistant Permit
  • Must be computer literate

Preferred

  • Expanded functions are preferred
  • Teaching experience
  • Proficient with Google Workspace
  • Experience with Canvas LMS a plus
