Title:  Postdoctoral Associate- Biomaterials
Division:  Surgery
Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Summary

The postdoc will design, synthesize, and characterize functional biomaterials, and evaluate the in vivo pharmacokinetics and therapeutic efficacy in animal models. Experience in polymer synthesis, nanoparticle fabrication and characterization by FTIR, mass spectrometry, ellipsometry, XRD, SEM, TEM, and other physicochemical and materials methods are required. Experience in confocal and multiphoton imaging will be an additional strength. The postdoc is expected to participate in proposal writing, manuscript preparation, and day to day lab management and organization.


Job Duties
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals. 
  • Maintains laboratory operations.
  • Supervises research staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD. in Chemistry, Bioengineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences is required.
  • Candidates should have vast experience in polymer synthesis, nanoparticle fabrication, and materials characterization.
  • The candidate should have a consistent publication record, strong organizational and communication skills for assisting and collaborating with multidisciplinary groups of clinicians, biomedical researchers, and technology innovators in a dynamic team environment.
  • Candidates must be highly motivated and have good communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
