The organization was founded by Native Americans looking to provide educational, physical, and mental health services that are culturally appropriate to American Indians, Alaska Natives, and anyone in need. The CRM/PSS (Certified Recovery Mentor/ Peer Support Specialist), assists clients in accessing resources and services that support their recovery. This includes alcohol and drug-free housing, behavioral, physical, and dental health services, transportation, employment, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Facilitates client connections to the recovery community and other community supports. Teach and model positive recovery skills. Accompany and/or drive clients to activities or appointments in support of recovery efforts.
  • Uses motivational interviewing to help clients develop and achieve recovery-oriented goals, including the development of a recovery identity and lifestyle.
  • Responsible for documenting all client service activities within the required time frame and in the required format including documentation of all client related activities.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all clients protected health information and adhere to all HIPPA related policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned for the success of the program and client.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • CRM certification in good standing with MHABCO.
  • A valid driver’s license for state of residency and have a driving record that qualifies for coverage under the NARA insurance policy.
  • Must possess an understanding of multiple pathways to recovery and recovery support services.
  • Experience required working with minority communities, and knowledge of the current disparities that certain communities may face more broadly in society.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Lived experience related to the population being served.
  • Able to establish and maintain professional boundaries while providing supportive services and building trust with clients, staff, and community partners.
  • Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Well-developed documentation skills and a strong commitment to quality management.
  • Experience with Microsoft programs.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and punctual, and exhibit strong time management skills.
  • Able to communicate in a clear, concise, and effective manner in both verbal and written formats.

Our agency follows federal guidelines for Controlled Substances in accordance (Title 5, Code of Federal Regulations, part 731 (5 C.F.R. part 731). All employees are required to pass a pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug test.

If in recovery, must have been sober/clean for a length of time sufficient to demonstrate that will be able to model sobriety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
