Assistant Professor – OB GYN Clinical Psychologist

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking an outstanding academic clinical psychologist. As a member of large multidisciplinary clinical teams, the candidate will provide expertise, program development, and delivery of direct and indirect clinical services to a diverse population of women in both obstetric and reproductive clinics with co-occurring mental health conditions.

This position will be embedded within reproductive medicine and general OBGYN medical clinics and joins a team of established psychiatry and psychology faculty in the department. Specific duties will include:

  • Evidence-based psychological services to patients, including diagnostic and psychological assessments; psychotherapy; psychoeducation; and prevention-oriented services, with an emphasis on the application of time-limited, evidence-based approaches, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and interpersonal therapy (IPT).
  • Functioning as a full member of the OBGYN and Reproductive Medicine Clinic (RMC) teams and provide ongoing consultation services to team members, including assisting team members in managing behavioral factors associated with reproductive and/or obstetric conditions to promote outcomes.
  • Reproductive medicine third party and donor gamete psychological assessments.
  • Professional advice and consultation in areas related to professional psychology and behavioral health.
  • Participation in academic activities, including research, education, and training of psychology and medical students.

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a PsyD or PhD from an APA approved psychology program and completed an APA or CPA accredited internship. Candidate will be licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the State of Wisconsin. The candidate should have experience working within interdisciplinary teams and/or prior experience specific to women’s mental health. Postdoctoral fellowship training is strongly preferred. Mentorship and opportunities to advance professionally and academically will be provided to the successful candidate. Rank upon appointment will be commensurate with experience.
