Salary: $60,000-$85,000

Salary is commensurate with experience. Starting salary within the range provided is based on the candidate's relevant experience and skills for the role.

Summary

Under the supervision of Program Manager (PM), the Program Officer (PO) will manage the day-to-day activities of the assigned exchange program. He/she will perform the following duties: assist PM in overseeing the selection of program participants, arranging international travel, overseeing the placement of participants at US universities, overseeing student extracurricular activities, as well as supervising junior staff. PO will also collaborate with the business development team to design new proposals in the area of exchange visitors.

Essential Functions

  • Manage collaboration with American colleges.
  • Supports the recruitment of program participants and placement at U.S. host institutions.
  • Provide guidance to exchange program finalists on financial, academic, and personal matters.
  • Design and implement the Pre-Departure and Re-entry workshops for program participants.
  • Conduct limited domestic and international travel for program related events and prepare reports on visits.
  • Facilitate participant travel arrangements and special events.
  • Provide guidance and support to program participants on J-1 visa application and interviews.
  • Prepare progress and final reports for the donor.
  • Work closely with Finance Department to track students’ program costs, ensure timely check disbursements/payments;
  • Collaborate with business development in designing new proposals and initiatives.
  • Supervise junior staff.

 


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in international studies, international development, public administration, or a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
 


Qualifications/Experience

  • Demonstrated capacity to coordinate exchange programs and facilitate the implementation of USG-funded projects. Previous program implementation experience in Eurasia is required; experience in Russia is preferred.
  • Knowledge of exchange visitors’ rules and regulations.
  • Excellent intercultural and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language ability required. Knowledge of Russian is preferred.
