Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a specially funded Instructional Services Coordinator Senior (Lab Tech Supervisor).This position holds a multifaceted role overseeing various aspects of laboratory operations, leads the organization and maintenance of laboratory equipment, manages inventory, and establishes operational policies, ensures compliance with instructional program guidelines, safety regulations, and applicable laws..

Additional Information

Please note per the Affordable Care Act (ACA), once the short-term assignment ends the incumbent will not be eligible to work in a part-time or Adjunct position within MCCCD for 26 weeks.

Essential Functions

30% - Oversees and provides leadership for the coordination, set-up, and maintenance for all laboratory needs and learning exercises and experiments including maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies as well as developing operating policies, practices and work standards for laboratory operations.

20% - Develops policies and procedures for instructional programs, monitors program guidelines and ensures compliance with applicable policies, regulations, laws, maintenance/repair schedules of instructional programs including, but not limited to, the safe and efficient operation of the lab and equipment.

15% - Plans, organizes, and assigns the work of staff, including hiring, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating all instructors and staff.

15% - Collaborates and consults with program faculty and staff on program design, effectiveness, quality and outcomes, recommends modifications and additions to program. Partner and coordinate with internal college stakeholders/departments to grow and support program learning opportunities for students and the community.

10% - Assists in the development, administration and monitoring of assigned budgets ensuring that all supplies, equipment and course needs are readily available for faculty and students.

10% - Coordinates with program faculty and administration in the development and delivery of training opportunities for students and professional development for faculty. Performs other duties as assigned commensurate to the grade level of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and two (2) years of full-time equivalent related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree may be required for some assignments.

OR

Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and four (4) years of full-time equivalent related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree may be required for some assignments.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience working in a lab setting for an industrial manufacturing program or work experience in an industrial manufacturing organization or related industry

B. Experience developing a preventative maintenance schedule for highly technical equipment as well as standard operating procedures and training documents of learning environment

C. OSHA certification

D. Experience working with budgets including grants

E. Experience leading and supervising staff and providing strategic guidance

F. Experience developing skilled workforce training programs

Special Working Conditions

This position will mainly work in the afternoons/evenings and support evening classes but schedule can be coordinated with supervisor.

May require lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation

Weekends may be required as needed.
