Summary of Job Duties:
The Post Doctoral Fellow will perform experiments relating to cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry and bone metabolism. This position will conduct research to understand mechanisms of bone cell function by using molecular biology, biochemistry, and immunological methods including lentiviral preparation and transduction, Western Blotting, immunoprecipitation, quantitative RT-PCR, CRISPR-based genetic manipulation, and DNA and plasmid preparation and transformation. In addition, this position will be expected to perform mouse experimentation, bone imaging and histomorphometric measurements.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, bone biology or related field required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Techniques in molecular biology and cell culture.
Work closely with various laboratory animal specimens.
Good communication skills including communicating with others.

Responsibilities:
Help write scientific manuscripts and grant applications by supplying information pertaining to experiments undertaken as described.
Reading scientific literature to design new experiments.
Develop new research skills that strengthen their independent research ability.
Present scientific findings at scientific conference and write scientific manuscripts.
Organize and oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, including ordering supplies and small equipment, maintaining, chemical inventories, entering computerized data, and performing routine chemical and instrumental safety checks.
Help train graduate students, other postdoctoral researchers, and any temporary undergraduate students that enter the lab.
May perform other duties as assigned.
