About COA:
College of The Albemarle, located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is the state's first community college, founded in 1961. We strive to transform lives by inspiring and empowering individuals and communities of our seven-county service area. Through our four locations, we provide quality college transfer and career and technical education to residents in northeast North Carolina.
Position Title:
Division Assistant
Department: Arts and Sciences Supervisor: Woolard Rm: A252 Ext: 2230
Duties and Responsibilities:
General:
- Assists with greeting visitors and responds to telephone and email inquiries
- Types a variety of documents
- Assists with general filing and data entry
- Assists faculty in copying and scanning of documents
- Assists with Open Lab Hours in the Fine Arts Fabrication Lab
- Assists with maintaining supplies and equipment in the Fine Arts Fabrication Lab and the
Fine Arts Studio spaces - Assists with planning, preparation, and/or implementation of Fine Arts community outreach programming
- Assists with the preparation of special events and projects such as annual Literary and Arts publication, Estuaries, Arts Month, etc.
- Assist in research of grants to fund/outfit a new art facility for the Elizabeth City campus
- Maintains A&S program bulletin boards in the hallways and in the classrooms
- Ensures classrooms are stocked with classroom supplies
- Provides faculty with classroom technology assistance and support
- Other duties as assigned
Unique:
- Operate the Fine Arts Innovation Center Welcome Desk
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Ability to use: computer and copier
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, organizational skills, and self-directed
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working advanced technologies (3D Printers, CNC Router, etc) or the desire/capability to learn such technologies.
