Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology (HDQM), in the College of Education invites applications for adjunct lecturers to teach in a part-time capacity in our human development undergraduate program. Teaching responsibilities typically include instruction in one or more of the following: Lifespan Development, Infant Development, Child Development, Adolescent Development, Social Development, Educational Psychology, Peer Relations, Research Methods, Adult Development and/or other courses as needed by the Department.Ideal candidates should have an excellent teaching record in higher education, experience incorporating issues of diversity into their teaching, and be flexible in teaching multiple delivery formats, including in-person, hybrid and online instruction.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
A master’s degree in human development, psychology or related field.

Experience:
Experience teaching human development or psychology courses at the college level.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated investment in diversity and inclusion; and evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate courses; and ability to teach in person on campus and skills to teach online if necessary.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • A Ph.D. in human development, psychology or related field; experience and success in the latest teaching technologies and with innovative course development.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach courses that integrate racial and ethnic minority content and issues.
