Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Program Manager for Club & Career Engagement is a member of the Office of Career Services (OCS) Undergraduate Programming team, which serves the Smith School of Business undergraduate population (approximately 3,200 students). This role provides innovative career programming and support to enhance student career readiness, engagement, outcomes, and satisfaction. The Program Manager offers crucial oversight and support for the Smith Undergraduate Student Association (SUSA) and approximately 25 SUSA affiliated business student clubs and organizations. This role oversees the overall marketing and social media strategy for OCS undergraduate programming team to elevate the OCS brand and increase student career education and engagement and supervises three undergraduate marketing interns to build and execute that strategy. The Program Manager also supports student career development through career coaching and programming, partnering with the Employer Connections team, and supporting undergraduate team initiatives like career fairs, career courses, outcomes collection, and more.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, human resources, counseling, business, or a related field. 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Experience advising student clubs and organizations. 
  • Experience working in career services or recruitment, training, human resources, or talent management. 
  • Experience in planning programming in a busy, fast-faced, career services office preferred. 
  • Social media strategy experience. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong communication and active listening skills. Strong interpersonal and coaching skills. 
  • Ability to work with students, staff, and other stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Positive, collaborative self-starter with strong service orientation. 
  • Excellent judgment, planning, multi-tasking and decision-making skills. 
  • Ability to challenge students to excel and to provide with feedback to help them improve. Demonstrated high energy and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects. 
  • Experience working with vocational/career assessment tools (e.g., StrengthsFinder, etc.). Experience marketing, promoting, and planning events. 
  • Proficiency with career services technology platforms (e.g., 12Twenty, Handshake, Uconnect). Evening and weekend work will be required, especially during peak times of the fall and spring recruiting seasons.
