Salary: Level C – $140,433 - $161,926 p.a. (pro rata for part-time) plus 17% super

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished Senior Lecturer in Endodontics to join our dynamic team at the Melbourne Dental School. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of dental education and research, with a focus on postgraduate clinical training in Endodontics. You'll have the chance to inspire and guide postgraduate students undertaking the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (DCD). Contribute to curriculum development, and lead groundbreaking research in your field. As a member of our collaborative and forward-thinking team, your expertise will be nationally recognized, and you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the field of Endodontics.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and delivery of teaching with contemporary pedagogical insights to achieve a high standard of teaching satisfaction both in the DCD program and continuing professional development (CPD) offered by the School.
  • Regularly contribute and lead curriculum development, assessment and evaluation renewal and redesign in consultation with relevant academic and professional staff in the School.
  • Undertake clinical teaching supervising treatment of DCD student endodontic cases to completion of care.

 

Who We Are Looking For

You have a passion for clinical teaching, excel in course development, and foster innovative teaching methods. You're skilled at guiding research students and thrive in a collaborative, diverse work environment.

You will also have:

  • A completed PhD in a relevant field such as Endodontics or a related discipline and a completed specialist dental qualification in Endodontics with the ability to register with the Dental Board of Australia through APHRA (with no current or prior notifications).
  • Extensive clinical experience in Endodontics.
  • A strong track record in research with a developing publication profile.
  • Demonstrated capacity for multidisciplinary and collaborative research and the capacity to attract research grants and consultancies.
