Physiology Department of Biological Sciences, College of Sciences and Mathematics

The Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Physiology beginning Fall 2024 at the rank of Assistant Professor with an emphasis in Vertebrate Physiology. We seek a highly collaborative candidate who will build a diverse research group in vertebrate or comparative physiology working across two or more biological levels such as organismal, tissues, cellular and/or subcellular, cell signal transduction, neuro, or -omics. The successful candidate is expected to establish an extramurally funded, nationally recognized and dynamic research program focused in the field of physiology. Instructional responsibilities include teaching an upper-level undergraduate course, Biomedical Physiology or Anatomy & Physiology and development of a graduate course in physiology related to their area of interest. A successful candidate would complement the current group of faculty in the Physiological Adaptions and Functional Genomics research core group.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a closely related discipline, and relevant postdoctoral experience at the time appointment begins. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and to continue to work legally for the proposed term of employment. Desired qualifications include a strong record of publication, teaching experience, and demonstrated (or potential) ability to acquire extramural funding.
