JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The laboratory of Anthony Pedley in the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill a postdoctoral scholar research position.

 

This position requires a Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemical biology, or a related field. The candidate should have extensive experience in studying molecular and cellular enzymology with an interest in identifying new therapeutic targets in cellular metabolism. Preference will be given to those that have demonstrated excellence in proteomics (mass spectrometry) and advanced cell culture techniques (stable cell line generation, genome editing).

 

Education and Experience

The applicant should have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D. by the time employment starts. The individual should be highly motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects including developing grant and fellowship proposals, writing research manuscripts, assisting in the training of others, and contributing to collaborative research efforts.

 

Additional Information

This is a term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of refunding. Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
