About us

Healthcare Foundation of Wilson was established in 2014 to support the health and wellness needs of the greater Wilson community. The foundation is committed to improving the health and wellness of all people by working together with eligible community partners to invest in the most promising efforts that effectively influence and encourage healthier living among residents in and around Wilson, NC.

Responsibilities:
The Programs Officer will be involved in all aspects of grant development and grant management compliance . This will include administrative work, maintenance of records, filing, assistance with events, and performing due diligence for all applicants and grantees to ensure all Grantee requirements are met.

  • Manage workflows for grant applications and grant processes.
  • Analyze potential grants for impact and fit within program strategy.
  • Perform required due diligence on applicants and grantees.
  • Provide technical assistance to grantees and applicants regarding compliance and the online grants process.
  • Maintain database/software with grantee records.
  • Provide ongoing reports with particular attention to outcomes and payment information
  • Maintains web site including Facebook and other social media sites.
  • Develops and maintains new media and social networking communications strategies.
  • Develops and implements online communications campaigns with strategies to grow size of online audience.
  • Creates online and print version quarterly e-newsletter and online grantmaking and fundraising campaigns. Design flyers, posters, pamphlets and other materials relevant to a variety of HFW activities.
  • Tracks metrics from web site and grantees.

This position will play a key role in the maintenance of the grants process including, but not limited to, creating forms, managing workflows, compiling reports, reconciling financials, and training. Also develops and maintains web site, online communications and social media strategies.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a nonprofit or foundation sector - required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in a relevant field - required.
  • Applicants should have demonstrated knowledge of grant making and fundraising for non-profits including experience reviewing and analyzing financial data - required.
  • Financial knowledge and experience with budget management - required.
  • Experience in web site management - preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -required.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities - required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications - required.
