Department Summary
The Department of Materials Science & Engineering has a mission to provide a high-quality education to our diverse student population through excellence and innovation in teaching and research in order to serve the scientific and engineering needs of the state of Texas and the nation. This will be achieved by a balance of formal course work, practical laboratory training, and research projects that encompass both the basic science and the applied aspects of materials science and engineering. The department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering programs.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSls and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Summary
This part-time position is required to work closely with UNT faculty colleagues, and researchers at sponsoring agencies in ongoing and developing research projects relating to advanced metallic materials and additive manufacturing of advanced metallic structural materials and mentoring of students and teaching courses of interest. A major objective will include participation in suitable research projects in the CAAAM and MTSE with the opportunity to teach a course or two.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Several years of postdoctoral research experience
Detailed publications in the areas of advanced metallic materials and additive manufacturing of advanced metallic structural materials.
