Job Description:

The Department of Physics at the University of Florida seeks to fill a Dirac postdoctoral position in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics with a starting date in the Fall of 2023. The position is sponsored by The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) and designed for recent Ph.D.'s with research interests in any of the Condensed Matter areas represented at the three NHMFL sites (Gainesville, Los Alamos, and Tallahassee). Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate high aptitude for theoretical research as well as to establish close connection with the ongoing experimental program.

The successful candidate will be located at the University of Florida in Gainesville, working in close collaboration with the condensed matter theory group, including Prof. Peter Hirschfeld, Prof. Chunjing Jia, Prof. Dmitrii Maslov, and Prof Yuxuan Wang. The position is for two years, with the possibility of extension to a third year, subject to performance and continued funding. The appointment includes a competitive salary and benefits, and discretionary funds to cover research and/or travel expenses.

Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package

The candidate is expected to demonstrate ability to explore new areas in a collaborative environment with faculty members and graduate students.
