Summary:


The Vice President Marketing and Public Relations is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic and tactical marketing, protection of the hospital's brand and oversight of all internal and external communications.

 

 
Responsibilities:


1. Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy.


2. Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations.


3. Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls.


4. Is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and evaluation of hospital’s strategic and tactical marketing initiatives.

5. Is responsible for broad areas of advertising, marketing, corporate communications (both internal and external) media relations, and electronic communications.

6. Oversees the efforts of the Marketing and Communications staff, agencies, and multiple other vendors, and coordinates with other functions of the hospital at the strategic and tactical levels.

7. Is responsible for evaluating and selecting hospital sponsorships and community organizations and events

8. Supports organization’s overall short-term and long-term strategic business goals and objectives for growth.

9. Plans and administers the annual budget for hospital’s marketing and corporate Communications program, monitors progress and evaluates the performance of those activities in all markets.

10. Leads MarCom staff, agencies, and vendors in achieving marketing, advertising and corporate communications goals and objectives.

11. Is responsible for hospital communication in a crisis or situation of wide public interest.

12. Oversees hospital social media channels, providing relevant information to targeted audiences, and monitors all channels to facilitate service recovery as needed.

13. Maintains the hospital's internal and external websites and consumer app and provides analytics on their performance.

14. Overseas medical audio/visual staff responsible for both clinical support and external marketing deliverables.

15. Responsible for printed promotional pieces for the hospital and departments.

16. Other duties as required.

 


Other information:


Technical Expertise


1. Experience leading the executive’s functional area[s] in a large organization or business unit is required.


2. Experience in marketing and corporate communications is required.

3. Experience in developing and managing a multi-million-dollar advertising and marketing budget, and hiring, training, managing and appraising marketing and PR staff is required.

4. Experience in the design, execution, and measurement of marketing plans, advertising, communications activities is required.

5. Experience in managing corporate communications function including crisis communication is required. Experience working with all levels with an organization in required.

6. Experience in healthcare is preferred.


7. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Understanding and awareness of social media and technology platforms software is required


Education and Experience


1. Education: Master’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field is preferred.


2. Certification: None


3. Years of relevant experience: 10 – 15 years is preferred.


4. Years of experience supervising: 7 – 10 years is preferred.
