Summary of Job Duties:
The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research in engineering design with a focus on engineering and design cognition and design teams in collaboration with Dr. Jenn Campbell. This position is expected to advance our understanding of how engineers think about ill-structured, complex problems and how team dynamics impact the engineering design process with implications for social and environmental sustainability. In addition, this position is expected to develop new research directions, collaborate on the preparation of proposals to secure external funding for research and commercialization of research, prepare journal and conference papers, and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Engineering, Engineering Education, Psychology, or related fields from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment

• Experience conducting human subjects research

Preferred qualifications:

• Basic understanding of behavioral science and social psychology research and theory

• Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods

• Experience conducting data analysis using R, Stata, SPSS, or related software and/or experience analyzing qualitative data using Dedoose, NVIVO, or related software

• Experience in intervention development and evaluation

• Experience in experimental design with human subjects

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Creative, dynamic, and/or independent researcher

• Strong scientific and interpersonal communication skills (individual and group meetings, presentations, written reports, journal publications, etc.)

• Strong project management skills

• Ability to work on multiple projects independently
