Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Asst. Coach – Women’s Rowing for University Athletics. Under the direct supervision of the Head Coach, this position will assist in establishing and maintaining a nationally competitive intercollegiate women’s rowing program in the Big Ten and NCAA.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Assists in all aspects of the rowing program, including recruiting, coaching current student-athletes on and off the water, assisting in fundraising, assisting in alumni relations.
  • Assists with maintenance, upkeep, and proper planning for replacement and repair of all equipment associated with the women’s rowing program, including but not limited to, coaching launches and motors, rowing shells, oars, rowing machines, coxswain/coach electronics, team truck and boat trailers.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good organizational skills and must be computer literate.
  • Ability to communicate clearly clearly with coaching staff and student-athletes.
  • Assistant coach must have an understanding of technical knowledge of the sport of Rowing with the ability to help develop the student-athlete to their full potential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations relative to rules in administration preferred.

Equipment Utilized
  • Will be required to help maintain and manage equipment related to the sport of women’s rowing including but not limited to coaching launches and motors, rowing shells, oars, rowing machines, coxswain/coach electronics, team truck and boat trailers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Nights and weekends will be required.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.
  • Must be able to drive short and long distances with rowing shells in tow.
  • Must perform above duties with the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior and in accordance with University, Departmental, Big Ten or other affiliated Conference and NCAA regulations, policies and procedures.
Special Conditions
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to work evenings/weekends as needed.
  • Clean driving record.

Immunization Requirements
