Description
NYU Pediatric Dentistry is seeking applicants for a full-time position at the level of Clinical Assistant/ Associate Professor (rank depending on experience & scholarship).
The Department of Pediatric Dentistry was founded in 1939, as one of the first in the nation, and has always been committed to community service and care for the underserved. The department established a modality of nonpharmacologic behavior management and anticipatory guidance that has been a model in the specialty. The core philosophy is that oral health care of the infant and child is the responsibility of the primary care provider and through health promotion and prevention of oral disease, every child can grow up with a healthy and intact dentition.
Primary responsibilities will be leading and administrating community-based pediatric dentistry programs which will include engagement with local and state health departments, seeking external funding and scholarly activity. Teaching responsibilities will include didactic and clinical education in the predoctoral and postdoctoral programs as well as inter-professional education. Faculty practice opportunities are available.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $150K - $200K. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Qualifications
In addition to a demonstrated commitment to scholarship and teaching, candidates must be a licensed general or pediatric dentist or dental hygienist who has graduated from an accredited dental school or dental hygiene program and eligible for New York State licensure.
Prior experience in the administration of community-based oral health programs is strongly preferred. In addition, preferred experience would include grant writing, teaching, community collaboration, oral health advocacy, interprofessional interactions, teledentistry, and minimally invasive dentistry.
