Position Highlights

Postdoc position to work on AMS related research involving solar cycles, tree-ring radiocarbon and other time-series. Position also includes preparation of tree-ring samples for 14C analysis and assistance with preparations for the new LTRR MICADAS facility (TIME lab).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analysis of 14C time-series from tree-rings, other tree-ring data and high-resolution proxy records to investigate possible solar-climate / volcanic-climate interactions 2500-1100 BCE and in other time periods. Carbon cycle modelling and solar energetic particle event research. Specialist preparation of tree-ring samples for 14C analysis, including protocol development. Assistance with set-up for a new MICADAS radiocarbon dating facility.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Ion beam physics or related upon hire.
