Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

-Perform a multidimensional nutrient analysis of pollen to characterize the nutritional space available for honey bees in three different landscapes (agricultural, urban, and rural) across seasons.

-Perform a multidimensional nutrient analysis of bee bread to understand the role of pre-digestive pollen processing by honey bee workers.

-Characterize the link between bee bread fatty acid composition, nurse bee feeding behavior toward developing larvae, and colony-level performance. The data generated from every objective will inform beekeepers on practices that they can change/implement to improve colony health.

Required Education:

PhD in Entomology or closely related field.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

-Excellent organizational, communication, teamwork, laboratory, and data analysis skills, which should be transferable to the above approaches and assays.

-Previous experience working with honey bees is highly desirable.

-Ability to work cooperatively with others.
