Position Summary | The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research conducts basic science and translational research within the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. The Wells Center houses more than 200 faculty investigators, staff, and trainees seeking answers to the most pressing questions related to childhood illness. With the collaboration between scientists and physicians, the center aims to increase knowledge of causes and mechanisms of serious pediatric diseases. Our goal is to develop innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of sick children in Indiana and beyond. This post-doctoral position is in the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The Wells Center is part of Riley Hospital for Children, a major Children’s Hospital with a research program consistently in the top 10 in the US for research funding. The position is part of a major, NIH-funded translational Program Project Grant. The work is focused on basic and translational studies of asthma and primary ciliary dyskinesia. The position will involve experiments in biochemistry, primary cell culture, cell and molecular biology, physiology and pharmacology. Experience with teaching students and other trainees will be important. The position is part of an exciting, collaborative and highly inclusive translational research team. Basic Qualifications | PhD or MD required. Significant basic science experience and publications Biological or bioinformatic sciences background Conversational English, English writing skills |
