Senior Program Director – Aquatics, Healthy Living, & Membership

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees the development and operations of memberships and association-wide aquatics programs and implements high quality programs. Recruits, trains and supports assigned staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (AT LEAST 10% OF TIME):

1. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, support, schedule, evaluate & develop staff, complying with applicable best practices, policies, laws, and regulations.

2. Provide guidance and leadership to staff to achieve high standards of quality in programs and member service, internally and externally through community partnerships.

3. Develop, implement, and manage operating plans to promote program and membership growth for the YMCA. Execute retention strategies to ensure that members and program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.

4. Develop and ensure supervision of aquatic and healthy living related programming to meet YMCA objectives.

5. Conduct regular program audits to ensure best practices recommendations and program standards are met. Ensure all related safety and risk management best practices recommendations and procedures are followed. Assure compliance with state and local regulations.

6. Ensure proper supervision of all non-YMCA owned pools and waterfronts.

7. Provide leadership to ongoing communications between departments in support of membership desk operations.

8. Ensure proper implementation of front desk procedures with staff regarding software and transaction updates.

9. Provide data and reports as required. Analyze, create, and implement sales, service, and retention strategies.

10. Work collaboratively with Facilities department and appropriate vendors to ensure proper maintenance of pools and wellness equipment.

11. Develop, manage, and control assigned department budgets. Work with the finance departments on collections of program fees. Coordinate with the finance office on financial transactions.

12. Coordinate program guide and program related marketing information in partnership with the Association Marketing & Communications Director.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS (LESS THAN 10% OF TIME):

13. Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

14. Coordinate programmatic special events and activities.

15. Assist with grant development and related expenditure tracking and reporting.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent. Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.

Certifications, Licensures, and Registrations: Valid Driver’s license. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or “POOL” license within 120 days of employment. Certifications: Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED, and lifeguard and swim instruction trainer. YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
