About the Center of Family Love

Center of Family Love (CFL) in Okarche, OK is a faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides residential and employment programs for adults with intellectual disabilities by cultivating their interests, skills and independence to live creative, productive and joyous lives. We are located 30 minutes west of north Oklahoma City.

Summary:

We are currently recruiting for Residential Group Home Staff. The Residential Group Home Supervisor creates and embodies a caring and supportive environment and supports the residents by assisting with the activities of daily living, social skills, and participation in community events and recreational activities, while ensuring an overall safe, structured and nurturing environment.

Various shifts including nights and weekends. Positions in Kingfisher, El Reno, and Okarche! This position does work some weekends and overnights.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Center of Family Love’s values of teamwork, respect, integrity, compassion and kindness.
  • Provides support services to residents, including grocery shopping, financial oversight, transportation to appointments, assistance with medical needs.
  • Teach, assist and cook nutritional meals for our clients.
  • Must be observant of the health of each resident and report any health issues of concern immediately.
  • Take residents to a variety of activities, including shopping, sports, theater, art, music and dining functions.
  • Promote a healthy life style including diet and exercise.
  • Provide support and assistance to meet the resident’s spiritual needs.
  • Ensure that the individuals of each home have opportunities to participate in community activities.
  • Provide the individuals with learning experiences based on individual abilities.
  • Help maintain contact with families and encourage their involvement in programming.
  • Assist with IP planning by keeping accurate medical and progress records, making assessments of individual training needs and providing training and direction to the residents of the home.
  • Know the medical needs of the residents and keep abreast of various medications used by each individual, assist individuals in taking medication, instruct the individuals in proper use and administration of each medication.
  • Ensure that medical appointments are scheduled and the medical needs of each resident in the home are met.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, and auto insurance as required by the State of Oklahoma.

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements include frequent bending, standing, walking; continuous ability for speech communication and hearing in order to communicate with residents, employees and the public, vision for reading, recording and interpreting information, and the ability to lift/carry a maximum of 25 pounds.
