Under the direction of the HOME REPAIR SUPERVISOR, the Home Repair Coordinator works with contractors and performs work of some complexity coordinating and overseeing residential critical home repair projects with a vision in health, safe and accessible living.

Job Duties Include:

· Sensitivity to Homeowners needs and situations.

· Manages all activities of renovation, weatherization, and repairs, for income eligible clients in need of critical home repairs and energy efficiency upgrades.

· May participate in the activities of renovation, remodelling, repairing, and reconstruction of income eligible clients interested in home repair and determines when the work should be performed by a licensed contractor (within the limits of our licensing).

· Perform home inspections and walk-thru for eligible clients to ensure repairs are in line with the mission of Habitat for Humanity Tucson.

· Draft contracts between Habitat for Humanity Tucson and sub-contractors to schedule and manage home repair projects. Verify insurance, licenses, and certifications necessary.

· Manage subcontractors to ensure time, budget and quality goals are met per contract.

· Ensure construction trades are performing in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) regulations, county building codes and agency safety rules and regulations.

· Coordinate the timely delivery of tools, materials and supplies for job sites.

· Ensure quality workmanship on all Habitat Tucson jobs.

· Communicate with clients, homeowners, outside agency representatives, organizational personnel, and others regarding construction functions, requirements, and activities.

· Work with Home Repair Supervisor to ensure compliance and accuracy of work, expenditures, and submissions to government agencies.

· Provides conflict resolution with clients and sub-contractors (as catalyst between the two).

· Verify final diagnostic tests for crews and contractors and conduct walkthroughs of property to ensure quality control and final completion walk with homeowner.

· Work with State auditors on field tests and reports as needed.

· Lead a crew of volunteers for any basic volunteer tasks which include but are not limited to framing, dry wall installation, roofing, stucco prep, painting, and general site work.

· Assist in preparation of training/teaching materials for volunteers and staff for all Habitat volunteer programs.

· Supervise small construction sites (1-3 homes) and manage Department of Corrections crews as needed for short periods of time (under 1 month).

· Regularly report (intervals will be set at Management’s discretion) detailed progress of all jobs under supervision.

· Assist with daily site preparation and clean-up, including the cleaning and organizing of tools and materials, scheduling and management of subcontractors, and the scheduling of inspections as may be required.

· Coordinate mobilization/demobilization, equipment/supplies at all construction sites.

· Perform home walk-through in order to generate repair punch lists.

· Participate in Habitat's home warranty program including performing home assessments as a result of warranty calls and resolve minor repairs as needed.

· Organize and submit all paperwork generated in the course of construction to the finance department accurately and in a timely fashion.

· Act as organization’s “runner/purchaser” both ordering, picking up and delivering materials to multiple sites as needed. If assigned runner/purchaser activities, they will replace other duties listed above.

· Attend all staff meetings and other meetings as requested.

· Must be flexible as we continue to have moving targets.

· Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 70 lbs.

YOU ARE:

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, prefer bachelor's degree.
2 years hands-on construction work in residential general contracting or remodeling. Experience with a construction related profession/volunteer position (i.e. architecture, “handy-man/woman,” etc.) may substitute for some of the experience requirements.

Experience soliciting, evaluating, and selecting bids for subcontractor work

Experience working on projects involving Federal Government performance and reporting requirements

Customer-service or group leadership oriented experience (i.e. retail, hotel, teaching, counselling, etc.)

Ability to interact with, manage, and teach volunteers at varying skill levels in order to provide a meaningful volunteer experience

Demonstrated ability to manage a project to its completion
Ability to effectively set and manage all aspects of construction scheduling for smaller scale construction (average 15 homes). Performance will be evaluated on ability to meet schedules.
Ability to effectively organize and manage staff to both build efficiently as well as to follow and implement organizational policies.
Ability to productively manage subcontractors to ensure time, budget and quality goals are met.
Ability to take direction and implement constructive criticism.

OTHER NECESSITIES:

Travel: Travel within Tucson to active construction sites on a weekly basis is required. Occasional travel to Habistore and other Habitat projects in Tucson, Pima County area, Ajo and Three Points.

License: Valid Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record.

Working hours: The position is regarded as full time (40 hours a week). Additional hours may be required to perform the job. Work is usually performed between Tuesdays through Saturday 6am to 3 pm. Flexible work schedule to include Mondays and Sundays as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
