The candidate will have the freedom to shape his/her project. The candidate is expected to publish his/her work at top venues (see example venues below) and supervise subprojects led by both doctoral and undergraduate students. Required qualifications:

* Ph.D. degree

* Published research or advanced coursework in at least one of the following: mathematics, statistics, probability, optimization, machine learning, and signal processing

Highly recommended but not required:

* Previous publications in top conferences in ML, AI, optimization, statistics, information theory, and related fields (https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=top_venues&hl=en&vq=eng_artificialintelligence ) and/or in top bioinformatics and computational biology journals, and related fields (https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=top_venues&hl=en&vq=eng_bioinformatics )
