Position Highlights The Wyant College of Optical Sciences is seeking candidates to fill a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The postdoc will work on computer controlled optical surfacing (CCOS) algorithm and control system developments for ground and space telescope and observatory. This position will also support various optical system lab experiments and testbed efforts including optical alignment using interferometry, wavefront sensors, and devices. It will include necessary optical system design and analysis tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise/co-supervise group students with PIs.
  • Lead CCOS software and GUI development efforts.
  • Lead optics fabrication, testing, and evaluation tasks.
  • Publish academic outcomes and results with PIs and teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD degree in Optical Engineering or related field.
  • Three years or more of hands-on CCOS experience.
  • Three years or more of simulation experience with CCOS process and dwell time optimization algorithms.
  • More than three journal/conference publications in the optical fabrication, testing, design, and/or evaluation field.
  • Demonstrated experience in English communication and writing skills for technical discussions.
