Summary of Job Duties:

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will support research in membrane science and engineering conducted through the MAST (Membrane Science, Engineering and Technology) Center. Collaborating closely with Dr. Wickramasinghe and students in our group, the research associate will assist with developing new efforts related to wastewater treatment, with a specific focus on the removal of emerging contaminants such as PFAS.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field relevant to the job duties conferred by the start of employment

  • At least two or more years’ experience

  • Experience with membrane formation and surface modification

  • Experience with membranes for wastewater treatment

  • Experience with unit operations such as reverse osmosis, forward osmosis

  • Experience with electrospinning

  • Experience with electrocoagulation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrated excellence in previous research, supported by scientific publications

  • Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
