The University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry is recruiting a full-time academic psychiatrist at the level of Associate Professor, tenure-track, to work at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center (MPRC).  Candidates must have completed a residency program in Adult Psychiatry and be Board Certified.  In addition, the candidate must have previous research experience in a basic or clinical science field related to research on schizophrenia and related disorders.  The successful recruit will not only critically enhance the academic strength of the MPRC, he/she will be strongly encouraged to collaborate with colleagues throughout the University of Maryland School of Medicine and will therefore help promote and achieve the scientific goals of the Department of Psychiatry and the School as a whole.  The successful candidate will be expected to have developed an independent area of research and will be expected to bring in new grant funding within 2 years of appointment.  The successful candidate will also assist in the education mission of the MPRC and the Department of Psychiatry and contribute to the teaching programs of the School of Medicine. Finally, the candidate will be expected to provide clinical care in one or more of the MPRC clinical outpatient units.

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications: MD or MD/PhD and 4 years of postdoctoral training.
