Postdoctoral Fellow - Neuro-Oncology - Patel Lab(TTFields)

Job Description


A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Patel Lab to study therapeutic alternating electric fields in cancer, or tumor treating fields (TTFields). The overall goal of the Patel lab is to understand the on-target and off-target effects of TTFields using pre-clinical models of glioblastoma (e.g., spheroids, animal models) to facilitate the translation of promising strategies to help patients with glioblastoma. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct TTFields experiments and perform various experimental readouts using techniques such as electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, western blot, qPCR, FACS, and time-lapse fluorescence microscopy.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
(1) To learn techniques associated with the study of TTFields (cell culture, qPCR, electron microscopy, western blot, microscopy) (2) career development in the form of peer-reviewed publications, grant applications, and talks at conferences/meetings, and (3) understanding the temporal effects of TTFields in impeding cancer cell proliferation.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for this position should have a PhD in biomedical engineering or biomedical sciences.
