Postdoctoral Fellow - Genomic Medicine

Job Description


We seek a driven and technically adept Postdoctoral Fellow to develop and deploy innovative approaches for integrative analyses of multi-platform cancer data towards the identification of new therapeutic leads and biomarkers. The primary research focus is to apply cutting-edge data science, machine learning, and bioinformatic methods to integrate rich datasets of patient samples across platforms and timepoints. These efforts will determine the impact of treatments from multi-platform profiling and connect them to patient outcomes in order to inform clinical understanding here at MD Anderson and pave the way for new therapeutic strategies.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Develop innovative methods to advance integrated analysis of multi-platform biological datasets. Build interpretable models to determine the mechanisms underlying contributions of treatments to patient outcomes.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Individuals with a PhD degree in computer science, engineering, or the natural sciences are encouraged to apply. A strong computational background is required, including proficiency in Python, R, and UNIX. Familiarity with analysis of -omics data is essential, and prior experience in cancer biology would be preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team are essential in this role.

POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson follows the NIH stipend levels as outlined by the "Kirchstein - NRSA". This full-time trainee position will provide a salary between $56,484 to $68,604, dependent upon the years of postgraduate experience.
