We believe that good local journalism has the power to make community life richer and more fulfilling, and all of society stronger.
Concord, Massachusetts, is a town of 18,000 people with a long and treasured history. The Battle at the Old North Bridge was pivotal in the Revolutionary War and is argued to be where the ‘shot heard ‘round the world’ was ignited. The second Continental Congress convened at what is now the First Parish Church in downtown Concord, and it was here that the colonies proclaimed independence from England. Our literary history includes prominent thought leaders in the Transcendentalist movement and the homes of Henry David Thoreau, Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Today Concord boasts progressive thinkers and writers, among them: Doris Kearns Goodwin, Alan Lightman, Gregory Maguire, and Robert Parker.
The Concord Bridge is a weekly publication of the Concord Independent Foundation, Inc., a Massachusetts 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Are you an executive looking for a challenge? The Concord Independent Foundation is seeking a Publisher/CEO to lead our team of talented journalists and production personnel to produce a print and digital newspaper in Concord, MA.
Position Summary:
We are looking for someone preferably with startup experience, to grow a strong news organization for a community of 18,000 people west of Boston. You will be a sharp strategist and inspiring leader, committed to community engagement and skilled in designing and executing a digital strategy.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,500.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Job-related location requirement:
- Candidates must be within a 25-mile radius.
