Job Description: | The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) at the University of Florida is seeking an Assistant Director for Group Counseling Services with experience in collegiate mental health. The Assistant Director of Group Counseling Services is a key administrative role at the CWC, as they are responsible for supervising, planning, and maintaining a strong culture for group counseling services both within the CWC and across the larger campus community. The person in this role reports to the director of the CWC and will also serve as a clinical faculty member of the CWC. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment that values collaboration and support among team members and will work with us as we seek to embrace differences and help nurture a healthy and healing campus environment for all. Our team’s mission is to assist UF students cultivate their mental health and well-being in support of their personal, educational, and career development. This role entails extensive administrative responsibilities in addition to some direct and indirect clinical services.
Administrative service responsibilities include:
Direct and indirect clinical service activities are primarily focused on group counseling and may include, but are not limited to the provision of:
Our staff consists of 47 clinicians in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and counselor education. In addition, we work closely with the psychiatry staff of the Student Health Care Center. The CWC is home to a large training program for graduate students in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education and a doctoral psychology internship accredited by the American Psychological Association. Members of our staff are cohesive, collegial, engaged, and share a passion for working in collegiate mental health. The CWC is a learning organization as clinical service, training, outreach, and professional development are informed by research, local data, and benchmarking with national trends and peer institutions. Expected Salary: | $85,000, commensurate with leadership experience |
Minimum Requirements: | Doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology or counseling from an APA accredited or CACREP accredited doctoral program; (2) two years clinical/counseling experience in a college counseling center or a university – based clinic; (3) five years of experience providing group counseling services; (4) two years of experience providing clinical supervision; and (5) licensed in their current jurisdiction of practice and must be license eligible in Florida. Employment with the University of Florida is contingent upon the results of a criminal background check. |
