President

Job Summary

JAWM is seeking a new President with outstanding fundraising skills, who is committed to youth empowerment and is eager to engage with the young people in our community. The President will be responsible for working with the Board of Directors and developing a Youth Board as we continue to create and implement JAWM’s strategic vision. The President will lead all aspects of the organization including:

  • Assure that Junior Achievement operates in compliance with all requirements of the Junior Achievement Operating Agreement and additional requirements established by the Board of Directors.
  • Assures the financial stability of the Junior Achievement operation to support operational and strategic plans and sustainability of the organization including the development and implementation of effective fundraising campaigns and other innovative approaches to raising funds, accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis of financial information; development of a budget and management of financial resources to meet all organizational objectives.
  • Develops and implements strategic plans that assure the stability and growth of JA in the Area within the context of the internal and external market forces and regulations.
  • Works with the Board of Directors to develop policy and assure proper governance of the organization.
  • Works with the Chairman of the Board of Directors to recruit, orient, and encourage engagement of Board members; manage effective regular meetings with the Board including the development of the agenda and any reports and materials.
  • Accurately projects staffing requirements; recruits, hires and trains associates; manages staff performance to assure achievement of all goals and objectives.
  • Manages implementation of all programs including JA CLIC (Career, Leadership, and Innovation Center) and ensures programs are executed within acceptable standards to assure growth in student impact.
  • Prepares, gains Board approval and implements a public awareness plan and acts as a representative with governmental, political, community, civic and industry groups.
  • Other duties as requested by the Board of Directors.
  • Proactively manage JA staff member(s).

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience in related field such as Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Education, or Youth Development
  • Four years experience in community, nonprofit, or youth-centered programming with a successful track record
  • Demonstrated expertise/success in fundraising, or sales/marketing with a budget goal of $450,000-$600,000 annually
  • Ability to manage stressful situations, prioritize duties, solve problems effectively and collaboratively, supervise staff and volunteers, and maintain professional boundaries
  • Superior organization and ability to establish and maintain record-keeping systems
  • Excellent management, communication, interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated expertise/success in fundraising, or sales/marketing.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Canva, Constant Contact, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrated understanding of the free enterprise system
  • Willingness to undergo criminal and credit background check

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

  • Management experience in education or nonprofit organization
  • Demonstrated experience in Marketing, Networking and Social Media
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • CFRE certification

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
