Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary | The Sustainable Bio-Based Materials Lab in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment (CFWE) at Auburn University is seeking a qualified individual for a 12-months postdoctoral fellowship. This is a limited-term, non-tenure track position with anticipated funding for up to two years. Continued employment is contingent on availability of funding and satisfactory performance. The individual in this position will be working on the development of bio-based composites for food packaging. |

Minimum Qualifications | Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in nanotechnology, chemical engineering or materials science at time of employment. The individual should have skills in analytical testing of materials, wood composite manufacture, testing of mechanical and physical properties. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment. |
Desired Qualifications | Experience with cellulose and bio-based polymers processing (i.e. PLA and PHAs) including proficient knowledge in FTIR, DSC, NMR, as well as background in rheology. |
