This role will have the primary responsibility for developing and executing year-round educational programming targeted at K-12 students and teachers for the Clinton Presidential Center. The ideal candidate for this position will plan, develop, and implement educational programming that includes innovative workshops, events, and tours of interest to the educational community through the civic literacy and inspiring civic engagement lens. The role will also include developing educational programming that complements temporary exhibitions. This position includes management of the Civic Engagement Programs Assistant Manager and an Education Programs Associate

Core Responsibilities

In this role you will/are:

Program Development and Management

  • Civic literacy and inspiring civic engagement lens will guide educational programming.
  • The Clinton Center hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year tied uniquely to President Clinton, Secretary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, which allows for creativity with educational programming through the duration of the temporary exhibition.
  • Keep current on relevant museum practice trends, field-specific content, and educational opportunities.

Cultivate Internal and External Partnerships

  • Establish and cultivate working relationships/partnerships with school districts, national community-based organizations, and other non-profits to support joint educational and community programs.
  • Collaborate with the Education Specialist at the Clinton Library in programming and outreach.
  • Work closely with Clinton Foundation departments, Events, Exhibits and Marketing/Communication, for integration of educational content into all facets of the Center's operations.
  • Strategize with Development on fundraising, evaluation and grant reporting.

Administration and Reporting:

  • Monitor and being a good steward of the educational program budget. Assess and report a quarterly budget analysis and forecast of programs for the leadership team.
  • Monitor program effectiveness through continuous evaluation and reporting.

Supervision and Management: This role will supervise at least two employees, and is expected to:

  • Create an inclusive team where feedback is freely shared, and transparency is the norm.

  • Lead the co-creation of goals and expectations for the department/team.
  • Give and solicit feedback from reports and peers regularly as both part of formal processes and informal day-to-day.
  • Actively coach and develop your team. Play an active role in the hiring process when needed.
  • Be the link between your team and other teams, departments and overall Foundation goals, activities and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Museum Studies, Public History, or a related field.
  • At least five years of professional experience in educational programming, preferably within a museum or cultural institution. At least 1 of those years must have included either managing people or managing projects to completion
  • Experience in the classroom with civic literacy/civic engagement.
  • Strong understanding of educational strategies and programs with civic literacy and inspiring civic engagement lens.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with budget management and program evaluation
  • Ability to work in a varying schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays

Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $53K - $58K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This range is based on Little Rock market rates.
