Position Description

A unique opportunity is available in the Van Aelst and Lukey groups at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) for a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher, with strong experimental and analytical skills, to investigate metabolic interactions in the brain tumor microenvironment.
 
You will become part of a multidisciplinary team of basic researchers studying glioma-host cell interactions, using integrative techniques from metabolomics, biochemistry, and neuroscience to dissect the bi-directional metabolic exchange processes that support tumor growth and suppress the anticancer immune response.
 
We are looking for candidates who will develop their own research questions in line with the overarching goals of this project. Numerous resources will be available, including state-of-the-art laboratory space and the opportunity to discuss science in a diverse and supportive environment. This project also provides opportunities to develop skills in the application of murine glioma models, metabolomics, and advanced microscopy.

Position Requirements

Education: A doctoral degree in the field of cancer biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, or a related discipline is required.
 
Experience/Skills: The candidate should be scientifically curious with an ability to advance their research interests creatively as part of a collaborative team. Experience of working with animal models of diseases is required. Working knowledge of neuroscience, immunology, metabolism, and/or biochemistry is preferred.
