The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to perform independent research in molecular magnetism and magnetic resonance topics as part of the Zadrozny research group. Post Doctoral Scholars are expected to lead analyses critical to our physical inorganic chemistry research program and to take initiative in contributing to the design of molecular agents for solution- and solid-state 59Co NMR, and low-frequency EPR experiments. Duties will include taking and analyzing data, presenting results at conferences/workshops, writing manuscripts to publish results in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the research program, assisting with extramural funding proposals, mentoring and training graduate students, and supporting group activities through collaborative service work.



Qualifications:


Required: Doctoral Degree in inorganic/materials chemistry with specialization in molecular magnetism, synthetic chemistry, or related area

Desired: Demonstrated experience in air-free synthesis, organometallic complexes/ligand synthesis and spectroscopic material characterizations, including NMR and/or EPR and SQUID magnetometry required. Research interest in materials research towards advanced quantum information and medical imaging applications. Strong software skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Python, and graphing/illustration programs.

The pay range for this job profile is $48,000 - $60,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
