The Center for Retrovirus Research and Center for STOP-COVID at The Ohio State University is seeking Post Doctoral Researchers or Research Scientists for projects related to HIV-host interaction and COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2. The project is particularly focused on HIV host restriction factors and host immune response response to SARS-CoV-2 infection. This position is available for one year, with possible renewal beyond depending on funding and performance. The researchers will join an active and productive research lab with a primary focus in virus-host interaction, membrane fusion and entry of enveloped RNA viruses as well as host innate immunity to viral infection. The lab has a strong interest in retroviruses including HIV, influenza A virus, Zika virus, Ebola virus, and innate sensing to RNA viruses. Highly motivated individuals with a strong background in virology, cell biology, and innate immunity are encouraged to apply. The lab is especially seeking candidates who have skills and experience in immunology, cell biology, viral entry, and pathogenesis. Recently graduated PhD candidates are encouraged to apply.
