Position Highlights The Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SW CASC) in the Arizona Institute for Resilience at the University of Arizona is in search of a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The postdoctoral researcher will work on synthesizing ongoing reach across the Southwest related to drought and aridity. There is a growing consensus among the scientific community that aridity will continue to increase because of increasing air temperature, even if precipitation inputs remain the same, or even slightly increases. Despite these dire warnings of decreasing stream flow and soil moisture, how well does the general public understand the increasing aridity phenomenon in contributing to the ongoing drought? The postdoctoral researcher will work with all current SW CASC University PIs, state and federal agencies, and Tribal communities to assess how regional practitioners are considering managing for hotter droughts.

The Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SW CASC) was established in 2011 to provide objective scientific information, tools, and techniques that land, water, wildlife, and cultural resource managers and other interested parties can apply to anticipate, monitor, and adapt to climate change impacts in the southwestern United States.

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!

The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs. For more information about working at the University of Arizona and relocations services, please click here .
