USDA Postdoctoral Researcher (Hydrologist/Soil Scientist)

Job Description


The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Vegetable Crops Unit in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (Soil Scientist/Hydrologist), GS-11, for a TWO YEAR APPOINTMENT. Ph.D. is required. Salary is commensurate with experience ($69,107 to $89,835). Postdoctoral researcher will lead (1) a survey of soil and vegetative properties of cranberry farms in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, and Washington, and (2) a nutrient loss study for farms planted with ‘Mullica Queen’ cranberries in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have expertise in hydrology or soil science, fieldwork experience, and strong publication record. A working knowledge of nutrient management and conservation in agricultural watersheds is also desirable.
