VN Instructor
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Director, VN Instructor delivers class and/or clinical instructions according to established curriculum and in accordance with policies and industry practiced procedures.
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
- Deliver curriculum/ and or clinical instructions in accordance with approved syllabi to program
- Deliver instructional methods and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students.
- Prepares outlines of instructional programs and training schedules in addition to daily lesson plans according to established course objectives.
- Evaluate students’ performance to determine progress, provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Deliver lectures and conduct classroom discussions to increase students' knowledge and competence.
- Utilize visual aids such as graphs, charts, videotapes, and slides to ensure that instructions are delivered in manner that help student learn.
- Administers standardized oral, written, or performance assessments to students.
- Supervise independent or group projects, field placements, laboratory work, or other training.
- Provides individualized tutorial and/or remedial instruction.
- Advise and tutor students to ensure success in program.
- Conducts simulated on-the-job training, classes, or training sessions to teach and demonstrate principles, techniques, procedures, and/or methods of designated subjects.
- Maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records according to established procedures and deadlines.
- Posts and maintains regular office hours to ensure accessibility to students.
- Participates in school activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation ceremonies, and new student orientations,
- Remains current in applicable program teaching field;
- Works with the college administration, staff and other faculty members to improve the overall program operations.
- Participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars and in-service training sessions.
Qualifications
RN Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse (RN) within the last five (5) years
- Bachelor degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- Current California Registered Nurse License required
- Must be a graduate of an accredited program in nursing
- Current Driver’s License and CPR card required
- Must meet Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician (BVNPT) requirements
- Must be knowledgeable in course content and effective in directing/evaluating student learning and laboratory performance
- Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software systems that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
LVN Qualifications
- Hold a current California active license as a Vocational Nurse; and
- Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state accredited or approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; and
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience as a vocational nurse within the last five years.

Pay: From $38.00 per hour
