Solano Community College

Job Description

JOB
Solano Community College invites applications of interested and qualified instructors to teach during the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters and beyond. Please note that the District may cancel classes or change instructors as enrollment needs are determined. If this occurs, the District will notify affected parties and pay employees for actual services rendered. Part-Time/Adjunct faculties are paid for classroom instruction hours (lecture and lab) only. This position is a part-time position. The teaching assignment may require teaching lecture-discussion courses during day, evening or on Saturday and/or in an on-line/distance education format. The assignments are as needed, during Spring, Summer, and/or Fall semesters. This position is a "pool" position, meaning that openings may or may not be currently available. The District maintains a "pool" of applications for positions which are needed on an ongoing basis at Solano Community College. The advantage of "pool" positions is when a position becomes available, the Dean may immediately begin screening applications from the available pool of applicants without having to post a position and wait while the position is being advertised.

APPLICATION PROCESS DETAILS:

To be considered for this position, all complete applications and supporting materials must be received by the application deadline. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not assure the candidate an interview. It is, therefore, important that the application be thorough and detailed. Reference checks for the finalists will be conducted. Candidates should not expect official notification until the selection of the candidate has been completed. The College may re-advertise or delay filling a position. Oral interviews will be conducted to include a teaching demonstration. Travel costs related to the interview are the responsibility of the candidate. Paid office hours are available to adjunct faculty in fall and spring semesters who teach a 40% assignment or more.
