Job Title:  Chemistry and Biochemistry Postdoctoral Research - Organic Synthesis

Required Degree: PhD in organic chemistry or a closely related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:   Experience in the field of organic synthesis is essential. Experience with microwave-promoted synthesis, radical chemistry and the preparation and handling of nitrogen-containing compounds is desirable but not required. 

Duties/Expectations: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Brigham Young University has a postdoctoral position available that is focused on the development of new methods for synthesizing organic molecules that are triggered by thermal energy (i.e., microwave irradiation or conventional heating) without requiring catalysis. The research involves the synthesis of O-aryloxime substrates and the evaluation of these compounds in thermally-promoted radical reactions. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with a team of researchers, be highly self-motivated, and have strong communication skills.
