Position Qualification
Position Summary | Seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position in the department of pharmacology and experimental neuroscience. Work in state-of-the-art research infrastructure doing cutting edge research in understanding epigenetics of neurodegenerative diseases. The major aim of the project will be to identify the key pathways and molecular components in extracellular vesicles mediated cross communications between glial and neuronal cells in the context of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The research also aims to identify and apply the immunomodulatory role of EV-associated miRNAs to reverse the damage in diseased brain in the available mouse model of AD. |

Supplemental Qualifications | The candidate will preferably have experience in animal handling, primary neuronal and cell culture, RNA and protein isolations. They should have expertise in techniques like Western blotting, qPCR, Immunoprecipitation, single-cell RNA sequencing. Ability to design and execute experiments using molecular biology and biochemical techniques (e.g., gel electrophoresis, dot blots, molecular cloning, construct preparation, In vitro transcription, enzyme assays, differential centrifugation) is also desired. Additional knowledge in live cell imaging, Super-resolution, and Confocal microscopy, Immuno cyto- and histochemistry, fluorescent in situ hybridization, in addition to computational programs e.g. GraphPad, R, Microsoft Office, ImageJ etc is highly appreciated. The candidate is expected to be capable of planning and executing experiments with minimal supervision and should be able to train junior lab personnel. They should be trained in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting scientific data and experienced in preparing graphs, figures, and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. |
